On Sept. 2 2008 at
approximately 9:50pm, Boger
City Fire was dispatched to
a reported structure fire at
the corner of Old Mill Rd.
and Asbury Church Rd. Units
arrive on scene to find a
barn fully involved. The
barn was full of hay and 2
tractors. First arriving
units established a water
supply from a hydrant and
laid 1200' of 5" supply line
to reach the fire. Asbury
Church Road was shut down
for about 5 hours due to
apparatus and hose in the
roadway. Crews utilized hand
lines as well as deck guns
to knock down the fire. A
bulldozer was called in to
spread out approx. 60 round
bales of hay so that the
fire could be totally
extinguished. All crews
cleared the scene at 1:30am.
The Lincoln County Fire
Marshal's Office is handling
the investigation. Pumpkin
Center Fire and North 321
Fire assisted. Units that
responded were E42, E41,
B45, TR40, Car420, Car421,
E112, E102, E104, LR584, and
LCFM1205.
