Rubbish Fire Next To Building
On Aug. 6, Boger City Fire was
dispatched along with Lincolnton Fire on
a possible structure fire at Belding
Hausman on East Main St. in Boger City.
Engine 41 arrived first to report heavy
smoke coming from the rear of the
structure. E41 caught a hydrant and
proceeded to the rear of the building.
E41's crew found a pile of trash and
debris piled on fire beside the
structure. Foam and water along with a
mini-backhoe were used to extinguish the
burning roofing products and Styrofoam.
Two extra departments were called in due
to the high heat. Crews remained on
scene for close to 3 hours. One
firefighter was transported to CMC
Lincoln for heat exhaustion, he was
treated and released. The fire
reportedly started from a piece of
machinery being used for demolition.
Units that responded were E41, Rescue
46, E1, L1, Car 420, Car 2, Car 3,
