Fatal House Fire
On Sunday February 11, 2007 at approximately
3:00 am Boger City Fire and Alexis Fire were
dispatched to a structure fire on Highway 73
near Low Bridge Road. Engine 42 arrived to
find fire coming through the roof on the
A-side of structure. Crews were able to get
a quick knockdown on the fire while search
crews were obtaining a primary search. The
fire was extinguished and the search crews
reported negative on the primary search.
After talking with neighbors and family
members, they determined the dwelling should
have been occupied. Crews then performed a
thorough search and revealed one fatality
underneath the collapsed roof and floor
section of the living room of the structure.
The fire was brought under control in a
matter of minutes after the initial engine
arrived on scene. The investigation has been
turned over to the Lincoln County Sheriff's
Department and the Lincoln County Fire
Marshal's Office. Other departments that
responded were Pumpkin Center Fire Department
, North 321 Fire Department, East Lincoln
Fire Department, and Lincoln County EMS.
